tatu is an ancient practice from 

indigenous cultures across the world.  for many years this sacred art form in its authenticity was threatened by colonialism, but there are many who are dedicated to continuing their ancestral traditions and have maintained or are currently reviving this practice in their communities.

in honour of my ancestors, I create pieces inspired and guided by spirit and use what is now known as the hand poke technique to adorn the body.

I consider the body the most sacred canvas.  each piece is an energy exchange between the artist and the one receiving.
